Keep Your Eyes Open – Job shadowing
Next destination on our KYEO journey was Job shadowing. Representatives of Europe House Slavonski Brod and Eurasia Net have have spent 11 days visiting Virlanie – partner organisation in Manila, Philippines.
Virlanie is a Non-Governmental child-caring institution that empowers, loves and protects the abandoned, abused, exploited, neglected, orphaned, and those among the poorest of the poor children. Virlanie strives to build a better future for these children through its various programs and services, based on 7 pillars: Street, Community, Residential, Health and Psychosocial, Education, Integration and Advocacy.
During the Job Shadowing we have introduced Virlanie team and Likhaya – Virlanies Social entrepreneurship brand and their goal to seek out a social impact to give to street mothers and young adults capabilities and opportunities for inclusive empowerment so they can grow, earn and develop their families, selves, and communities.
In next few days we have met EYES Volunteers, visited other developing social enterprisers in Manila introduce Mobile Unit staff and some Virlanies beneficiaries. We have also participated in hackaton, learning about Foundraising, practicing with Canvas business model and planning our next step – Closing Seminar.
