Event 1-Training of Trainers

Participation: The event involved 9 participants, including 2 participants from the city of Slavonski Brod (Croatia),
1 participant from Bologna, (Italy),
3 participants from Wroclaw (Poland),
1 participant from Brasov (Romania),
2 participants from Novo Mesto (Slovenia).
Location/ Dates: The event took place in Youth Centre Slavonski Brod (Slavonski Brod, Croatia), on the
16/1/2019.
Short Description: During the Training representatives of 5 partner organizations were introduced with the
Human Library method, how to apply the methodology in the project and instructed in the organization of events,
making videos and writing website articles.

Event 2-Gamificatio of History
Participation: The event involved 33 participants, including 19 participants from the city of Slavonski Brod
(Croatia),
1 participant from Bologna, (Italy),
3 participants from Wroclaw (Poland),
1 participant from Brasov (Romania),
2 participants from Novo Mesto (Slovenia),
1 participant from Tomica (Croatia),
1 participant from Kujnik (Croatia),

2 participants from Marseille (France).
Location/ Dates: The event took place in Youth Centre Slavonski Brod (Slavonski Brod, Croatia), on the
17/1/2019.
Short Description: During the event participants were introduced to Gamification as approach and its benefit as
working method for targeting youngsters, increasing their engagement, interest and productivity, types of
gamification techniques, appliance of various gamification techniques to History and citizen education, challenges
and opportunities of gamification in teaching.

Event 3-Human Library event
Participation: The event involved 49 citizens, including 37 participants from the city of Slavonski Brod (Croatia),
1 participant from the city of Povlja(Croatia),
1 participant from the city of Kujnik (Croatia),
2 participants from the city of Oriovac (Croatia),
1 participant from the city of Stari Perkovci (Croatia),
1 participant from the city of Donji Andrijevci (Croatia),
2 participants from the city of Bukovlje (Croatia),
3 participants from the city of Tomica(Croatia),
1 participant from the city of Gornja Vrba (Croatia).

Location/ Dates: The event took place in the City Library Slavonski Brod (Slavonski Brod, Croatia), on the
20/9/2019.
Short description: During the event, young people (mostly students) met direct and indirect witnesses of WWII.
According to the Human Library methodology, participants were divided into small groups; each of them chose a
Living Book from the “catalogue” proposed in order to listen to his or her life experience.

Event 4-My right to Education and Participation
Participation: The event involved 35 citizens, including 26 participants from the city of Slavonski Brod (Croatia),
3 participants from the city of Novska (Croatia),
1 participant from the city of Povlja (Croatia),
1 participant from the city of Kujnik (Croatia),
2 participants from the city of Oriovac (Croatia),
1 participant from the city of Gornja Vrba (Croatia),

Location/ Dates: The event took place in Youth Centre Slavonski Brod (Slavonski Brod, Croatia), on the
10/12/2019.
Short description: During the session of the Slavonski Brod Youth Parliament on the occasion of Human Rights
Day, two Living Books were telling their stories to students and.members of Youth Parliament Slavonski Brod.

Event 5-Urban Trekking “Aktivno razgovaraj, aktivno uči”
Participation: The event involved 13 citizens, including 10 participants from the city of Slavonski Brod (Croatia),
1 participant from the city of Povlja (Croatia),
1 participant from the city of Kujnik (Croatia),
1 participant from the city of Gornja Vrba (Croatia).
Location/ Dates: The event took place in Slavonski Brod city center (Slavonski Brod, Croatia), on the 31/1/2020.
Short description: The aim of the event was visiting the most meaningful places concerning the World War II in
Slavonski Brod city centre: Sava river with the bridge, the central square, Brod Fortress, old villa, Railroad Station
and the Factory – the only ammo factory in NDH. The itinerary took two hours. The story and the historical
meaning of each place was explained by volunteer Tomislav Kaučić.

Active Telling, Active Learning

Od 30. lipnja do 1. srpnja u zagrebačkim prostorijama europskih institucija održan je seminar za predstavnike lokalnih medija u organizaciji Predstavništva Europske komisije u Hrvatskoj i hrvatskih centara Europe Direct. Sukladno tome, na seminaru su sudjelovali i predstavnici našeg centra Europe Direct Slavonski Brod, koji posluje kao informativni centar Europske komisije pri Europskom domu Slavonski Brod.

Seminar je posvećen obilježavanju velikih 12 godina članstva Hrvatske u Europskoj uniji. Poslušali smo nekoliko panela, sudjelovali u simulaciji rada europskih institucija u centru Doživi Europu te posjetili Dansko veleposlanstvo povodom predsjedanja Kraljevine Danske Vijećem Europe unije.

Tijekom prvog dana,fokus je stavljen na niz panela u kojima se razgovaralo o prednostima članstva Hrvatske u Europskoj uniji. U uvodnom panelu su o 12 godina članstva Hrvatske u EU, izazovima i prilika s kojima se Hrvatska susreće u kontekstu Europske unije, govorili hrvatski zastupnici Europskog parlamenta Tonino Picula i Karlo Ressler. Tijekom narednih panela raspravljalo se o sadašnjost i budućnosti novinarstva, izazovima s kojima se suočava te o njegovoj ulozi u Hrvatskoj i Europi. Također, razgovarali smo i o ostalim važnim i aktualnim pitanjima vezanima za Europsku uniju, s naglaskom na Hrvatsku u EU.
Više ekonomske savjetnice Predstavništva Europske komisije u Hrvatskoj, Hana Huzjak i Judita Cuculić Župa, predstavile su Europski semestar 2025. – ključni instrument koordinacije gospodarskih politika unutar Europske unije, s naglaskom na preporuke i prioritete vezane za Hrvatsku.

Eliana Čandrlić Glibota, glavna urednica programa Hrvatskog radija, navela je izazove s kojima se u današnje vrijeme susreću tradicionalni mediji – kako zadržati i povećati povjerenje slušatelja, borba protiv dezinformacija s obzirom na količinu radijskih postaja u Hrvatskoj te financiranje tradicionalnih medija.

Jasna Vaniček-Fila iz Vijeća za elektroničke medije i Ivan Buča, glavni urednik 24sata, objasnili su prisutnima što su SLAPP tužbi i osvijestili publiku o rastu broja takvih tužbi u Hrvatskoj. Istaknuli su potrebu za snažnom zaštitom novinara kroz zakonodavni okvir, javnu podršku i edukaciju.

Ozren Kronja, izvršni direktor Hrvatske udruge digitalnih izdavača i Goran Penić, predsjednik Društvo za zaštitu novinarskih autorskih prava, otvorili su temu budućnosti medija u Hrvatskoj s fokusom na utjecaj umjetne inteligencije i velikih tehnoloških platformi.

Hrvoje Zovko, predsjednik Hrvatskog novinarskog društva i Maja Sever, predsjednica European Federation of Journalists – EFJ i Sindikata novinara Hrvatske (SNH), naglasili su važnost slobode medija, zaštite novinara i neovisnog izvještavanja kao temelja demokracije.

Tijekom drugog dana seminara, na konferenciji za medije u organizaciji Danskog veleposlanstva, Nj. E. Ole Frijs-Madsen, veleposlanik Kraljevine Danske u Republici Hrvatskoj, predstavio je prioritete presjedanja Kraljevine Danske Vijećem EU-a.

Naposljetku seminara organizirana je simulacija rada europskih institucija za predstavnike medija i hrvatskih centara Europe Direct mreže.

Posebno zahvaljujemo na doprinosu i sudjelovanju našim dugogodišnjim suradnicama, novinarkama Danieli Kuzmić (Radio Slavonija) i Željki Gavranović (PlusPortal).
