Keep Your Eyes Open Closing Seminar
Members from all Keep Your Eyes Open project partner organizations (EHSB, D’Avent, Eurasia Net and Open M) have visited Manila, Philippines in period from 19th to 26th June 2019 to participate in KYEO Closing Seminar. Virlanie Foundation has hosted 8 participants from Croatia, Romania, France and Vietnam in order to improve awareness about social economy among the public and the youth thanks to the website and communication strategy around social entrepreneurship.
Two representatives from each country were gathered to transfer knowledge, share best practices and formulate new solutions on involving the youth in social entrepreneurship and making social entrepreneurship stronger globally. There were also some local social entrepreneurs involved in workshops and talks leading to future actions during the Get Lit! Event.
Participants have visited Gawad Kalinga Farm, a part of a larg Gawad Kalinga Community – a Philippine poverty alleviation and nation-building movement with mission to end poverty for 5 million families by 2024. There are different GK Developing programs, such as Community Infrastructure and Building, Environment program, Food Sufficiency program, Health program, Child and Youth Development and Center for Social Innovation.
The final part of the closing seminar was organized in Batangas on one of the Kahariam Farms that promote eco-friendly ways of producing their own food with minimal cost; educating on the importance and benefits of having clean, pesticide free vegetables, and a healthy lifestyle. The farm has several seminar houses, overnight accomodation and offers the possibility of a fun organic farm tour program. In a comfortable environment with delicious organic food, participants of KYEO closing seminar were discussing about the local event to be held in each of the partner countries, communication strategy and long-term cooperation perspectives.
